FDS Transport becomes DSV
published: cw 23, 2006 in Mergers & acquisitionsDFDS Transport changes its name to DSV A/S. Consequently, the company’s divisions will be named DSV Road, DSV Air & Sea and DSV Solutions. The name DSV Frans Maas will be used in a few markets.
DSV has operated under the name of DFDS Transport since the acquisition of DFDS Dan Transport A/S (2000). Over the years the company’s names have caused some confusion, not least to shareholders. The company is referred to as DFDS Transport but shares have been traded on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange under the name of DSV A/S. Therefore it has been decided that DSV A/S will be the future name of the group’s companies.
The change of name should also be seen as a result of the acquisition of the Dutch company Frans Maas, and it thereby marks a new beginning in the joint company for all 19,000 employees worldwide.
DSV will continue to operate within the three divisions DSV Road, DSV Air & Sea and DSV Solutions. For name familiarity reasons it has also been decided that DSV A/S will operate under the name of DSV Frans Maas in the areas to which Frans Maas is closely connected. This mainly applies to The Netherlands and a number of Eastern European countries. The company’s change of name will be implemented gradually.
