Hamburg Sud volumes rise 21%

The Hamburg Süd Group (including the Brazilian shipping company Alianca) has increased cargo volume on its liner services by around 21 per cent, to 1.84 million TEU (2005: 1.52 million TEU). Alongside organic growth, this rise was aided by the takeover of the cross-trade operations of the Russian shipping company Fesco, which took effect on 30 June 2006.

Contract logistics jump drives K+N growth

Global logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has continued to deliver good results. In the first quarter of 2007 turnover increased by 13.5 per cent to CHF 4,869.5 million (€2,967m) and profits (EBITDA) improved by 15.4 per cent to CHF 229.8 million (€140m).
